With a population of over 500,000 people, Hamilton is Canada’s 9th largest city, located on the shores of Lake Ontario, midway between the world-famous Niagara Falls and Toronto. With most international flights landing in Toronto, Hamilton is within an hour's drive from the airport.
Hamilton has intriguing geographical features that include a large harbour, lakefront and the Niagara Escarpment that weaves through the middle of the urban landscape, providing spectacular views and numerous waterfalls. Hamilton is also home to three post-secondary institutions, including McMaster University, Mohawk College and Redeemer University College.
Southern Ontario Collegiate is situated in the downtown core of Hamilton, with easy access to Hamilton City Centre. The main city library, financial district, central train and bus stations, downtown mall, supermarkets, and banks are all within 10 minutes' walk.
