录取条件: 学生最低要完成Form 2/Sec 1/Junior Middle 2, SS2, SS3 or WAEC以满足录取条件。

入学能力分班测试

When they reach SOC, every student must sit placement tests in English and Maths. This is to gauge their level and find any knowledge gaps or areas of need. We also look at each student’s past academic record through a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) exercise. Using the details gathered, we can make a plan just for them.

学分转换

We evaluate the transcript of each new student. This is to see how many compulsory credits they have already earned and how many more credits are needed to secure the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

 

Since students come from many different educational systems, we ensure consistency and fairness in assessing grade equivalency.  We look to the student transfer guidelines published by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada.

9 & 10 年级课程

在9年级和10年级,我们提供以下三种课程:

  • Academic courses which emphasize theory and abstract problems.
  • Applied courses which focus on real applications of the material with examples.
  • Open courses which prepare students for further study in certain subjects and enrich their education.

11 & 12年级课程

In Grades 11 and 12, students take courses designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to meet the entrance requirements for university and college.

报告流程: 

Reporting Procedures:  Student progress is shown in the Provincial Report Card, Grades 9-12. The Provincial Report Card shows the student’s marks in every course, attendance record, learning skills evaluation and teachers’ assessments.

Levels of achievement are shown as percentage grades:

  • 80-100% 第一等:这是一个非常杰出的学业分数。学习成绩高于安省的标准。
  • 70-79% 第二等:高学业分数。学习成绩达到安省的标准。达到这个分数的学生对进入下一年级做好了充分准备。
  • 60-69% 第三等:中等学业分数。学习成绩低于安省标准,但是很接近。
  • 50-59% 第四等:及格学业分数。学习成绩低于安省标准。
  • 低于50%的成绩不,学生无法通过这门课,也没法拿到对应的学分。

40小时社区志愿者:这是获得安省高中毕业证的必要条件。因为学生有可能已经贡献过时长给他们母国的志愿者活动,所以由南安大略学院的校长来决定还需要多少小时的社区志愿活动以满足毕业条件。

We then set up volunteer placements for students in the community such as:

  • Wesley Urban圣诞中心 – 在这家面向低收入家庭的慈善商店里,我们的学生协助管理库存,展示货物,并且作为收银员参与其中。
  • 汉密尔顿市公园清洁计划 – 我们的学生通过清理垃圾,清理乱涂乱画以及其他相关任务,协助维护公立公园的卫生。
  • Good Shepherd协会 – 我们的学生帮助这个慈善机构给穷人分发食物。

志愿者活动对于学生来说是一个非常好的机会去体验生活,回报社会。
